Why do I need training for 4 weeks before I work in the expanded role?

The Ordre des Infirmières et Infirmiers du Québec recommends 12 weeks of training in pre-hiring to be able to work in the expanded role. It is clear that this would be ideal due to the amount of material to cover. The problem is that a training of this scale is very expensive and the health care organizations do not have the required budgets.

We have been able to put the most important material in 4 weeks. We have also created many essential and complementary tools for the work in the expanded role. You will find all these tools in the Soluguide (ex. an evaluation grid from the SOAP, evaluation form during paediatric and prenatal follow-ups…)
